Every active business on the New York Department of State register has a DOS ID, a formation date, and — if it is an LLC or a business corporation — a Biennial Statement due every two years in the calendar month it was formed. This directory shows those records and works out each filing schedule.
To find a specific business, use the free New York business entity search, which queries the State register live, or the DOS ID lookup if you have the number. Every result links through to a record page like the ones below.

How the filing month works
New York does not use a single statewide deadline. Your filing period is the calendar month your original Certificate of Incorporation, Articles of Organization or Application for Authority was filed with the Department of State, and it repeats every two years:
- January — entities whose formation document was filed in January file their Biennial Statement every other January.
- February — entities whose formation document was filed in February file their Biennial Statement every other February.
- March — entities whose formation document was filed in March file their Biennial Statement every other March.
- April — entities whose formation document was filed in April file their Biennial Statement every other April.
- May — entities whose formation document was filed in May file their Biennial Statement every other May.
- June — entities whose formation document was filed in June file their Biennial Statement every other June.
- July — entities whose formation document was filed in July file their Biennial Statement every other July.
- August — entities whose formation document was filed in August file their Biennial Statement every other August.
- September — entities whose formation document was filed in September file their Biennial Statement every other September.
- October — entities whose formation document was filed in October file their Biennial Statement every other October.
- November — entities whose formation document was filed in November file their Biennial Statement every other November.
- December — entities whose formation document was filed in December file their Biennial Statement every other December.
The State fee is $9 for LLCs and business corporations alike. There is no late fee, and New York does not administratively dissolve an entity for missing the filing — but the record shows as past due until it is filed. Records come from the New York Department of State’s public Active Corporations dataset on the State open data portal. Filing schedules are calculated from each entity’s initial DOS filing date. New York does not publish whether a statement has actually been filed, so these pages show the schedule rather than the filing status.
